Announcements
VA Approval. JLS Aviation has recevied notification that the school's application for VA accreditation has been approved. For qualifed veterans, the instrument and commercial courses are available for partial reimbursement. The first step is for the eligible person to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from the VA. If approved, the certificate will also show the benefit levels. Once the certificate is received, the flight school only needs your SSN to enroll you in a course of instruction. Veterans are advised that benefits are contingent on progress within a course. A level of progress the corresponds with one stage of training every 90 days is required.
Commercial License now available under Part 141. The Flight School is pleased to announce that we are now able to offer training for the Commerical License under Part 141. The means that some students may be able to earn the license in 190 hours, as opposed to 250 hours under Part 61. See the page under Commercial costs for breakout of costs and potential savings.
Private Pilot Ground School. Due to work scheduling conflicts, JLS Aviation will not be hosting a formal ground school of instruction for Private Pilot during the summer this year. We expect to be able to offer class this coming fall at Germanna College in Fredericksburg (Massaponox), Virginia. THe class will start sometime in late September and finish about the first week of December. As we obtain firm dates we will also update this web page.
JLS Aviation offers Introductory flight gift certificates in a Cessna C-172 for $125. The flight is for one or two people and consists of a flight in the local area for about 35 minutes. Learn more.
